Former President of Guohai Securities, Qi Guoqi, Passed Away Unexpectedly and Cause of Death Revealed.

Former President of Guohai Securities, Qi Guoqi, passed away due to a sudden accident recently, at the age of 61.

On May 10th, according to “China Securities”, Qi Guoqi passed away recently due to a traffic accident. His funeral was held in his hometown, where old friends and former colleagues came to pay their respects.

That day, Dong Bin, the chairman of the well-known private equity firm Dongfang Port, posted on social media that a close friend of Qi Guoqi took an early morning flight to attend the farewell ceremony. As he was unable to attend, he entrusted a friend to represent the Shenzhen River University Alumni Association and himself in laying a wreath in memory.

Informants revealed that on the day of the incident, Qi Guoqi was driving from Pingdingshan to Zhengzhou when his car collided with a water spray truck. Qi Guoqi sustained severe injuries on the spot. Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, he sadly passed away due to the severity of the injuries.

However, the report did not mention the specific time of Qi Guoqi’s passing.

Born in March 1964, Qi Guoqi joined the securities industry in 1996. He held positions at Jun’an Securities, Guotai Jun’an Securities, Minsheng Securities, and Guohai Securities.

From 2003 to 2014, Qi Guoqi held various positions at Guohai Securities, including Vice President and President. During this time, he also served as a director of Guohai Commodity Futures and Guohai Franklin Fund. In August 2011, Guohai Securities went public through SST Ji Qi and became the 16th A-share listed securities firm.

In November 2014, Qi Guoqi was investigated for his involvement in a debt market inspection scandal and subsequently relieved of his position as President. After leaving his position, he served as the legal representative and chairman of Shenzhen Yaoshan Wealth Management Co., Ltd., and the actual controller of Henan Yaoshan Wealth Capital Management Co., Ltd. Shenzhen Yaoshan Wealth Management Co., Ltd. was deregistered in February 2022.
