Celebrating Mother’s Day: Councilors Huang Min-yi and Li Linda distribute infant formula on 5/10

On May 12th, Mother’s Day, Council Members Huang Minyi and Li Linda announced on May 3rd that they will be holding a “Mother’s Day Infant Formula Milk Powder Giveaway” event on May 10th. The formula milk powder is generously donated by the non-profit organization UA3 and New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams in celebration of Mother’s Day.

In the 2024 fiscal year budget, the New York City Council allocated $112,500 to UA3 to support its food pantry program.

The 28-ounce Bubs Supreme Follow-On Stage 2 formula milk powder is suitable for babies aged 6 to 12 months. Each family is limited to two cans.

Council Member Huang Minyi of the 20th District stated that raising children is a challenging task, and the cost of infant formula milk powder can be a heavy burden for many families. With Mother’s Day approaching, this giveaway event is not only aimed at reducing the stress of parents in raising children but also an opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day together. She hopes that families with children can make good use of this opportunity to reduce their parenting costs, even if it’s just a little bit.

Council Member Li Linda of the 23rd District, a mother of two boys, expressed her understanding of the pressures of being a new mother and hopes that this event can help alleviate some of the stress of raising children for families.

Council Speaker Adrienne Adams said she is honored to collaborate with Council Members Huang Minyi, Li Linda, and the non-profit organization UA3 to distribute infant formula milk powder to families in Queens ahead of Mother’s Day.
