“This is one of the most heartbreaking things that has happened in our big family,” he said. “As for their family…you can imagine, this is possibly the worst thing that could happen to a family.”

According to records from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Presley passed away on September 20th at a rehabilitation center in Santa Monica at the age of 27. Reportedly, he checked into the rehabilitation center (Resolutions Living) on September 19th.

A source who spoke to The Daily Mail at the time revealed that George Clooney had a “close” relationship with Presley and they often had conversations.

“George would spend hours talking to Presley,” the source disclosed. “George is a very good person, willing to do anything to help the Gerber family.”

“Especially after Presley was arrested for DUI in 2018, George would advise him: ‘Don’t do that, it’s not wise. Be careful.’ Recently, George also sent some caring messages, like ‘I will always support you.'”

In the months leading up to his passing, Presley had shared on Instagram that he was preparing to undergo a high-dose psychedelic therapy called “ibogaine mega-dose impact therapy” at a health clinic in Cancun, Mexico.

In his post, he admitted feeling “extremely scared” and added that “letting go of control is not easy.”

“I am clear why I am there. I have confronted the issues I have been avoiding, and in this process, I am finding myself again,” he wrote.

He also expressed hope that this would be the last time he needed to undergo treatment.
