China is boiling with discontent, and on the social media platform Douyin, there is often content appearing that is indirectly anti-Communist Party and anti-Xi Jinping. A man recently posted a video on Douyin, where he placed a pig-head doll on a target dressed in imperial robes and shot arrows at it. His account was subsequently suspended.
On May 6th, a video from Douyin circulated on X, showing a man setting up a pig-head doll on a target made of imperial robes, then shooting arrows at the pig-head doll, ultimately shooting it off.
Some netizens even claim they want to “summon a team (to rebel).”
Currently, the man’s account has been silenced by the platform, and his profile picture and all his works have disappeared.
The video was shared on X platform, and netizens mocked the Chinese Communist Party officials: “So, the Douyin review team knows that the pig-head represents Xi Jinping.” “If they didn’t delete it, most people might think it refers to the Qing Dynasty, but deleting and banning means what?” “It seems the whole country acknowledges that he is a pig.” “Does even the platform think that Xi Jinping is a pig wearing the emperor’s clothes? Otherwise, why delete the video? Isn’t it just making things worse?”
There are also netizens saying, “I saw it yesterday, but it disappeared after a while, and my account was silenced for a month. I just said, ‘The face is ordinary, and recently pork prices are low.'”
In a previous report by Dajiyuan on May 5th, it was mentioned that in recent years, there has been a trend of “rebelling in the early morning” on the Douyin platform. Many netizens take advantage of the late-night break of the content moderators to publish content that opposes the Communist Party and Xi Jinping. This has led to numerous likes and comments from netizens, sparking brief online revelry time and time again.
On May 3rd, a young man in Suzhou was seen cosplaying as Zhang Jue, the leader of the Yellow Turbans, shouting, “The Blue Sky has perished. The Yellow Sky shall rise.”
Netizens commented, “I suggest that at the next comic con, everyone should cosplay as the Yellow Turbans, Zhang Xianzhong, Chen Sheng and Wu Guang, Li Zicheng, and Chen Jinnan.” “The Chinese are living under too much oppression! It’s almost time, you will soon hear a bang.” “This is a rebellion in the making!”
In the midst of recent heightened internet censorship by the Chinese Communist Party, the situation remains that people are discontented under the Party’s tight control, both online and offline. A Douyin influencer revealed to Dajiyuan that currently, people’s minds in the country are changing, and there is an undercurrent of unrest.
