Jimin does not forget to do good while serving in the military; donates 1 billion Korean won to help underprivileged students.

Last year’s December, JIMIN, a member of the popular South Korean boy band BTS, who enlisted in the military, continued to provide scholarships to students in difficult situations through donations from his father.

According to the education department of Gyeongsangnam-do, JIMIN’s father personally called the department last month to express his intention to sponsor scholarships for JIMIN and donated 100 million Korean won (approximately 2.57 million New Taiwan Dollars/79,000 US Dollars) on the 20th, and his father attended a private scholarship presentation ceremony today (30th).

A spokesperson for the education department revealed that although JIMIN spent his student years in Busan and had no direct ties to Gyeongsangnam-do, he still harbored a pure intention to help local students and decided to make the donation. This donation by JIMIN will help low-income students in Gyeongsangnam-do with their university living expenses or the costs needed to enter society.

Prior to this, in May 2019, JIMIN also donated 100 million Korean won to the Busan Metropolitan City Education Office to help low-income students. He has also donated the same amount to the education departments of Jeollanam-do, Gangwon-do, and Chungbuk.

Overall, JIMIN’s consistent acts of kindness and generosity towards supporting education and students in need showcase his dedication to giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate.
