On March 11, the 2026 Forbes Global Billionaires List was released, with Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance, topping China’s richest list with a wealth of $69.3 billion (approximately 485.1 billion RMB).
The latest global billionaires list was published on the official website of the US magazine Forbes on March 11. A total of 3,428 billionaires worldwide made it onto the list, with their combined wealth reaching a record-breaking $20.1 trillion.
Among them, there were 539 individuals from mainland China on the list. Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance, claimed the title of China’s richest with a wealth of $69.3 billion, ranking 26th globally. Zhong Shanshan, the chairman of Nongfu Spring, closely followed with a fortune of $68.1 billion, securing the second spot. Pony Ma, the chairman of Tencent, ranked third with $53.8 billion, placing 33rd globally.
In addition, Zeng Yuqun from “CATL” surpassed Li Ka-shing, the founder of the CK Hutchison Holdings, with a wealth of $53.2 billion, reclaiming the title of Hong Kong’s richest. Li Ka-shing ranked 42nd with a wealth of $47 billion.
Hong Kong’s 50-year-old listed AI model developer Zhifu Technology’s chairman, Liu Debing, made his debut on the list with a wealth of $9.1 billion.
