Hwang In-hun’s daughter quietly marries, son-in-law’s identity revealed

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s son-in-law Nico Capretz, who was a professional skier, joined the company less than two years ago and quickly rose to the position of Vice President. Colleagues praise his dedication to work, often working over 15 hours a day, and his exceptional abilities have earned him the nickname of Huang Renxun’s “chief strategist”.

According to tech media outlet “The Information” on Monday (October 5th), Huang Renxun’s daughter Madison Huang and 35-year-old Capretz tied the knot in Hawaii in September.

At the end of September, while attending the annual gala of the non-profit organization “The Korea Society” in New York, where he was officially awarded the 2026 Van Fleet Award, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong revealed that Madison Huang had gotten married two days before the awards ceremony. Both Huang Renxun and Nvidia have not issued official statements regarding this.

The wedding took place during Nvidia’s quarterly break, where all employees had a two-day holiday on September 24th and 25th.

After the wedding celebrations, Capretz returned to work on September 28th. The following evening, he and Madison Huang attended an Nvidia investor dinner in New York. Sources at the event revealed that both were seen wearing wedding rings.

Capretz currently serves as Nvidia’s Vice President of Global AI Infrastructure Growth, primarily managing the company’s partnerships with emerging cloud service providers and other data center enterprises, involving investments of billions of dollars in chips and data centers. He also assists partner companies in acquiring funding, land, power, and clients.

Capretz is also one of the key figures in Nvidia’s financing strategy, participating in financing deals involving companies like Firmus and CoreWeave.

He is involved in advancing credit collateral and loan programs using Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs) as collateral.

On August 10th, Nvidia announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with six institutions including Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to establish an independent AI computing financing platform, aiming to mobilize over $500 billion of third-party capital.

Capretz, originally from Switzerland, started his career as a professional skier representing Switzerland in alpine skiing events after leaving the slopes in 2013. He then transitioned into a management consultant role at the Boston Consulting Group Zurich office.

Later, he pursued a master’s degree at the London Business School, where he met Madison Huang, and they graduated in 2021.

After graduating, Capretz worked as an investment analyst at Swiss asset management company PSquared Asset Management. In early 2024, he relocated to Silicon Valley to join Nvidia as a corporate development manager.

In January of this year, he was directly promoted from a director role to Vice President, skipping the senior director level.

Capretz is highly regarded for his exceptional abilities, with a cloud service industry executive who worked with him describing him as “Huang Renxun’s chief strategist”. Some employees at Nvidia believe that both Capretz and Madison Huang could become significant figures in the company’s leadership in the future. One employee mentioned that Nvidia’s operations may resemble more of a “family business” than what outsiders might imagine.
