Cucumber invites Dayo Wong to appear on the show as a guest – Two families gather together for a sequel recording

Variety show host Hu Gua recently launched a YouTube channel called “Next Guest,” where he reunited with his former comrade Xu Nailin after a hiatus of 23 years, triggering a wave of nostalgic memories for many viewers. After the release of a new episode, their sons Hu Shi’an and Xu Xinyang were invited to serve as the hosts, asking questions.

One of the questions posed was quite sharp, with Xu Xinyang asking: “Hu Gua was once the number one in the artist income rankings, but later surpassed by Shen Yulin and Wu Zongxian. What are your thoughts on this?”

In response, Xu Nailin came to support his old friend, stating that Hu Gua’s one show is worth three of others, “Brother Gua will always be number one!”

The exchange of questions continued with Hu Shi’an asking Xu Nailin, who jokingly issued a warning at the outset: “You know I have a bad temper!” causing Hu Shi’an to break into a cold sweat on the spot.

When asked if he would choose early marriage if he could start over, the romantically inclined Xu Nailin gave a confident reply, stating, “Being with my current wife was destined!” Hu Gua further inquired, “What about in the next life?” Xu Nailin joked once again, saying, “They say seven lifetimes of marriage, and this year is our seventh!”

Discussing his transition from being a big brother in the entertainment industry to returning home to take on the role of a father, questions were asked about whether there was a difference between his public persona and private life.

Xu Xinyang mentioned that while Xu Nailin may seem hot-tempered in public, he is actually a gentle and encouraging father in private, rarely scolding his children, portraying a contrasting side of him.

Hu Shi’an felt that Hu Gua was consistent both in public and private, being the same respectful father to him as well as to many others in the entertainment industry.

Apart from being a father-son relationship, it was also a generational exchange in the entertainment industry. Hu Gua and Xu Nailin expressed concerns about whether their sons would be affected by negative comments. Xu Xinyang admitted that he doesn’t pay much attention to them, but does receive messages attacking him for being privileged, to which he confidently replies, “Privileged it is!”

Hu Shi’an mentioned that he would skim over personal attacks but would consider constructive suggestions and feedback before absorbing and considering them.
