In Henan Province, China, a hidden pinhole camera was found in the dressing room next to the breast treatment room at the Anyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Currently, the suspect has been arrested, but the identity of the suspect remains undisclosed by the hospital. This news made it to the top of Baidu’s hot searches on November 11th.
On November 8th, mainland blogger “Shadow Never Lies” informed Overseas News that in October of this year, he and his team received a tip about hidden cameras in Anyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital. The informant claimed that the camera was in the “hospital’s lounge.”
Subsequently, they went to the hospital and after 5 days of investigation and surveillance, on October 17th, they found a hidden pinhole camera in the dressing room next to the breast treatment room on the second floor of the hospital. They also located the victims of the illegal filming and assisted in reporting to the police.
The camera was concealed in the honeycomb ceiling of the dressing room. According to the blogger, “the camera was hidden very deeply.” From the outside, the camera looked like a charger with a metal plate placed beside it.
Following the installation location of the camera, they traced back and found that the power source of the camera device was connected to a waterproof case and tape, extending five to six meters from the ceiling to the hallway outside the room. “It used independent power, not controlled by the room’s switch, and could record continuously for 24 hours,” the blogger said. The installation of the camera was done very professionally, and upon dismantling the camera, they found a SIM card inside.
The blogger revealed that on the afternoon of November 8th, they received a call from the authorities stating that the person responsible for installing the camera had been caught and that “it was an individual act and has received administrative punishment.”
Staff at the breast clinic of Anyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital told the media that the dressing room that was filmed was used by the nurses and was a shared space.
The police officers from the Doutuying Police Station handling the case did not respond to media inquiries, and the Anyang Municipal Health Commission also remained silent on the matter.
Internet users expressed suspicions, with one commenting, “Could it have been installed by someone from within the hospital?”
Another Tencent user believed, “It seems too professional to be the work of just one person.”
In China, incidents of installing hidden cameras are not uncommon. On November 10th, a netizen in Dongguan, Guangdong, posted revealing that a camera was found near the vent of a public bathroom in a badminton hall in Dongguan.
