Screenwriter Wang Jun of the classic Chinese drama “The Gold Bracelet Family” passes away at the age of 52.

The renowned Chinese drama screenwriter Wang Jun, known for the classic drama “The Family with Golden Powder,” passed away suddenly at the age of 52 due to a heart attack at his home on the 25th.

According to information circulating on Chinese social media platforms, Wang Jun died on the 25th due to a sudden heart attack, leading to an outpouring of condolences from numerous film and television industry professionals on social media. On the evening of the 26th, the “China United TV Directors Committee” released an obituary announcement, stating that Wang Jun’s memorial service will be held in Beijing on the 29th.

Public records show that Wang Jun was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province, and graduated from the Drama Literature Department of the Central Academy of Drama in 1995. His notable works include “The Family with Golden Powder,” “The Forged Sword,” “Taiwan Governor Liu Mingchuan,” and “The Vanguard in Drug Enforcement.”

Among Wang Jun’s notable works, “The Family with Golden Powder,” starring actors like Chen Kun, Dong Jie, and Liu Yifei, received significant attention, and the actors are still popular today. Besides Wang Jun, the screenwriting team for the drama also included Liu Guoquan and Han Xiaoxi. When the drama aired in 2003, it caused quite a sensation. In 2006, a sequel titled “Golden Era” was produced, with Lan Zhenglong and Huang Shengyi as the lead actors, although the screenwriting team had changed entirely.
