Zi Yu’s Birthday Livestream Delayed Due to Being Busy and Hungry, Quickly Writes Comments

TWICE’s Taiwanese member Chou Tzu-yu, born on June 14, 1999, is about to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. Tonight (June 13), she held a birthday livestream on her personal official Instagram to thank fans for their blessings and support. During the broadcast, Dahyun actively responded to Tzuyu’s words before she had to leave, making both Tzuyu and the fans laugh heartily.

Tzuyu started the livestream by mentioning that she went to the beauty salon today to have her hair and makeup done, and also visited a cafe prepared by fans to celebrate her birthday. She expressed that while looking at the many past event photos decorated by fans in the cafe, she felt that she and ONCE (official fan club name) have created a lot of memories together.

In advance through the communication platform Bubble with fans, Tzuyu announced the reason for her birthday livestream. She said that she wanted to convey her gratitude to ONCE and her appreciation for ONCE, which is why she decided to do the livestream. The company specially decorated the meeting room for this livestream, and her manager bought a chocolate cake for her.

During the process, some fans asked why she wasn’t doing the livestream on her actual birthday tomorrow (June 14). Tzuyu revealed that she has work commitments and important things to do tomorrow, as well as Nayeon’s upcoming album release, so she chose to do the livestream a day earlier.

Speaking of Nayeon’s upcoming return to the music scene with her second mini-album “NA” tomorrow, Tzuyu mentioned that she found out Nayeon was practicing dancing at the company yesterday, so she visited the practice room. Since Tzuyu had learned the dance for Nayeon’s new album title track before the visit, the dance teacher asked her if she was willing to film a dance challenge video, which led to the short clip posted on TWICE’s official SNS yesterday. Tzuyu also jokingly said, “But I didn’t expect it to be uploaded on the same day.”

She also mentioned that she posted a photo in the practice room on Bubble on the 10th, revealing what she was preparing, but it wasn’t a cover song video that she used to release on her birthday, so Tzuyu jokingly mentioned during the livestream that she saw fans speculating various things, showing their rich imagination. She once again urged fans to “please look forward to it.”

Shortly after the livestream started, TWICE member Dahyun actively left comments for Tzuyu. She not only expressed concern that the lighting during Tzuyu’s livestream wasn’t good, but also called for their manager to bring a handheld light and intermittently praised Tzuyu, saying “so pretty”, “well done”.

Dahyun continued to leave multiple comments to respond to Tzuyu’s words during the livestream. When she heard Tzuyu mention that she had been too busy today and only had coffee without eating, Dahyun immediately commented, “No! You can’t! Eat something quickly!”, and when Tzuyu said she wasn’t hungry, Dahyun urged her to eat something. Tzuyu also asked Dahyun for food recommendations and what she had eaten, to which Dahyun suggested potato soup and even recommended Tzuyu to try chicken feet, but in the end, Tzuyu ate the chocolate cake bought by her manager.

While blowing out the candles and making birthday wishes, for her first wish, Tzuyu expressed her hope to create more memories with ONCE for a long time; her second wish was for the health of her family, members, and her beloved dogs Kaya and Butter; and for the third wish, she kept it in her heart.

Tzuyu also revealed that her parents recently visited South Korea after a long time, and in return for Dahyun and Jihyo’s family visiting Taiwan earlier this year, Tzuyu’s family was hosted by Dahyun and Jihyo’s families during their visit to Korea. Tzuyu also praised Dahyun’s father for grilling delicious lamb skewers.

When she read a fan’s comment in Chinese saying, “I miss Chef Tzuyu (Tzuyu cooking on livestream), when will you challenge cooking livestream again?”, Tzuyu responded, “In fact, I thought about preparing today and doing another Chef Tzuyu livestream, making seaweed rice, but it was too late to prepare.”

She also revealed that she likes to sleep in bed with her dogs, but her allergy makes it difficult for her, and her two dogs Kaya and Butter seem to understand this, so they will sleep on their own beds. Tzuyu expressed her gratitude, thinking her two dogs are considerate.

At the end of the livestream, Tzuyu mentioned she had other schedules after it ended. Even though she didn’t eat anything all day and didn’t feel hungry but felt full, it seems because she had consumed a lot of “ONCE’s love”.

She specifically said in Chinese, “Thank you for your birthday wishes, thank you for your support, love, and blessings you always give me. I hope you stay healthy, happy, and safe forever, health is the most important. Also, I wish your dreams come true.”

When she read a fan’s message saying in Chinese, “Hope to see you soon,” Tzuyu replied with a smile, saying, “I wish to see you soon too.” She also said again, “Thank you for your blessings this year, and for promoting and supporting me in many places, I’m very grateful.”

Lastly, Tzuyu asked everyone to pay attention to Nayeon’s new album and look forward to TWICE’s concert in Japan in July. She expressed love to fans again, thanked everyone, and reminded fans to “stay healthy until we meet next time.”
