WayV debuts for five years to win their first championship. Member sheds tears to thank fans.

Recently, on June 11, 2024, the popular South Korean boy group NCT’s subunit WayV achieved their first music show champion title since their debut in 2019 on “THE SHOW” with the title track “Give Me That” from their fifth mini-album of the same name. This marked a significant milestone for the group as the first non-Korean group to win a music show championship in South Korea.

WayV consists of Chinese members Kun, Winwin, Xiaojun, Macau member Hendery, Thai member Ten, and Taiwanese member Lucas. On June 3, they released their fifth mini-album. Unfortunately, Winwin could not participate in the promotional activities for this album as he was filming a Chinese TV drama.

Competing against groups TWS and Kep1er on the show, WayV emerged victorious with a total score of 7,270 points, comprising points from digital sales and physical album sales (4,180 points), SNS, broadcast, pre-vote points (2,090 points), and live voting points (1,000 points). This win came 1,972 days after their debut, marking their first Korean music show championship.

During their victory speech, leader Kun exclaimed, “WayZenNi (official fan name), we did it!” He choked up while expressing gratitude towards staff and fans. Xiaojun tearfully stated, “WayZenNi, we will work even harder in the future. Thank you for your hard work (in helping us win).”

Member Lucas remarked, “Have you seen how hard we’ve worked? WayZenNi, we’ve seen you too, thank you.” He ended his speech by saying, “Thank you, everyone!” in Chinese, followed by a bow.

During the encore stage, Lucas jokingly kissed Ten on the cheek while other younger members pretended to kiss the oldest member, Kun, creating a playful atmosphere on stage.

Following the win, Kun shared group photos with the trophy on his personal official Instagram, expressing gratitude to fans for their support and vowing to continue improving. Ten posted a story on his personal Instagram, praising the team and expressing love for them.

Xiaojun thanked fans in English on his personal official Instagram and in Chinese on WayV’s official Weibo, emphasizing the team’s hard work and dedication to future performances, promising a fresh start and progress.

Lucas uploaded photos of the members holding the trophy on his personal Instagram story, dedicating the win to the fans and expressing gratitude. He also shared a heartfelt message on his personal official Weibo, thanking fans for their unwavering support and promising to repay their love.

In conclusion, WayV’s victory on “THE SHOW” signifies a significant achievement for the group, and they are determined to continue working hard to deliver outstanding performances and express gratitude to their loyal fanbase, WayZenNi. Their success has marked a new beginning for the group, and they are excited to embark on this journey together with their fans.
