Major A-share indices all rise, Shanghai and Shenzhen markets reduce trading volume by 300.4 billion yuan.

On April 9th, the A-shares market experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with major indexes showing gains across the board. The total trading volume in Shanghai and Shenzhen markets decreased by 300.4 billion yuan.

By the closing bell, the Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.72% to 3966.17 points, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped by 0.33% to 13996.27 points, and the ChiNext Index declined by 0.73% to 3323.30 points. The SSE 50 Index also saw a decrease of 1.62%.

The total turnover in Shanghai and Shenzhen reached approximately 2.134 trillion yuan, showing a decrease of around 300.45 billion yuan compared to the previous trading day. Out of a total of 5449 listed stocks, 1140 rose while 4299 fell.

In terms of sectors, industries such as CPO, high-speed connectors, copper foil/copper-clad laminates, and related concepts experienced notable increases. Conversely, sectors like securities IT, geographic information, financial technology, beauty care, chemical pharmaceuticals, social services, and related concepts faced declines.

Simultaneously, the three main indexes in the Hong Kong stock market also saw collective declines. The Hang Seng Index closed down by 0.54% at 25752.40 points, the Hang Seng TECH Index dropped by 2.06% to 4821.67 points, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell by 0.75% to 8611.83 points. The total trading volume for the day was 244.977 billion Hong Kong dollars, significantly lower than the previous trading day.

Looking at individual stocks, tech shares led the decline. Xiaomi Group fell by over 4%, Kuaishou dropped by 3.6%, Alibaba, and Lenovo Group both saw declines of over 2%. Additionally, Kingdee International plummeted by 7.14%, while Meitu Inc. experienced a sharp decline of 7.38%.

Mainland China’s real estate and cement building material stocks collectively slid. Greenland Holdings dropped by 3.81%, Yuexiu Property fell by 3.21%, and Longfor Group declined by 5.59%.
