Trader Joe’s recently announced the winners of the 17th annual “Customer Choice Awards.” This selection, completely generated by consumer votes, covers various categories such as food, beverages, and household items, making it the most accurate reflection of customer preferences in the annual popularity rankings.
The biggest winner of this edition is the “Steamed Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings,” which clinched the title of “Best Overall Product” for the year. This product, featuring tender pork, rich soup broth, and a hint of ginger flavor, coupled with its simple cooking method, has gained popularity among consumers and rose from last year’s runner-up to the champion.
In the realm of new products, the “Protein Pancakes,” boasting a nutritional highlight of up to 20 grams of protein per serving, was selected as the “Best New Product,” becoming a popular breakfast choice for health-conscious consumers. The classic seasonal beverage “Spiced Apple Cider” once again secured the title of “Best Beverage,” showcasing its enduring popularity.
Other award-winning products in various categories stood out as well. These include goat milk cheese as the best cheese, mini avocado for best fruit and vegetable, creamy spinach artichoke dip for best appetizer; hash browns for best “Breakfast and Brunch,” and butter chicken with basmati rice for best “Lunch and Dinner.” In the snack category, garlic herb Irish potato chips emerged as the winner, while the dessert category was dominated by ice cream sandwiches. In the home care category, the highest number of votes went to the Brazilian nut body lotion.
The organizers noted that this year’s Customer Choice Awards featured 11 main categories, and all results were based on customer votes. Some perennial favorites that have won multiple awards over the years, such as Mandarin Orange Chicken, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and Chili Lime Corn Tortilla Chips, have been officially inducted into the Trader Joe’s “Product Hall of Fame” and hence did not compete in this year’s selection process.
