During the “Golden Week” holiday, while performing at the Jilin Changchun Zoo and Botanical Garden, the internet-famous “Snow Biscuit Monkey” noticed a visitor fainting in the audience. Without hesitation, the monkey immediately paused the interaction with the audience, transformed into an on-site commander, and guided the ambulance to rescue the person in need, earning praise from netizens.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on October 2nd. Video footage shows the “Snow Biscuit Monkey” performing at the Jilin Changchun Zoo and Botanical Garden when they noticed something unusual and promptly halted the interaction with the visitors.
Addressing the audience about to come on stage, the monkey stated, “Interaction is secondary now because there are many emergencies on-site, involving imminent danger to human lives. Brothers, please understand.” Subsequently, the monkey directed traffic on-site, urging everyone to clear the way for the ambulance to rescue the individual.
Audience members present at the scene commented that due to the overcrowding, the newly arrived ambulance initially couldn’t navigate through the crowd. Nearby staff had to use a horn to help guide the ambulance. Meanwhile, the “Snow Biscuit Monkey” anxiously removed its headgear, called for assistance in dispersing the crowd, and announced the suspension of that night’s performance.
This incident has sparked public attention. Many netizens praised, “The Snow Biscuit Monkey is an actor with human touch,” and “Calm and collected, the protagonist on stage, with a sense of responsibility offstage; worthy of praise.”
However, some netizens also cautioned, “The management of the park needs to be strengthened, there are too many people in a small area, accidents are bound to happen sooner or later. The management lacks foresight; they must grasp the selling point properly.”
It is understood that the “Snow Biscuit Monkey” is played by Wang Tiezhu, who acts as Sun Wukong trapped under the “Five Elements Mountain” in the Changchun Zoo and Botanical Garden. In early 2024, a video clip of him being fed snow biscuits by a visitor, joking in Northeastern dialect about the dryness of the biscuit and how it hurt his teeth, went viral. Hence, he was humorously dubbed the “Snow Biscuit Monkey”.
