“Elon Musk Named the Most Influential Figure in Business for 2024”
On Tuesday, Fortune magazine selected American billionaire and tech mogul Elon Musk as the most powerful figure in the business world for 2024. Musk topped the list of the top 100 most powerful business figures, followed by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, and Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase.
The top ten also included several tech leaders such as Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, and Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors.
Fortune magazine stated, “Ultimately, those who secure a spot on the ‘Most Influential’ list share a common important trait: their words, actions, and wealth influence the thoughts and behaviors of those around them.”
Furthermore, Musk is also the world’s richest person, owning Tesla, SpaceX, and the social platform X. He also holds stakes in several smaller tech companies, including the AI company xAI and the neural technology company Neuralink.
In recent days, Musk’s wealth has increased by billions due to the surge in Tesla’s stock price following Trump’s victory. The electric vehicle manufacturer’s market value exceeded $1 trillion last week and continued to rise on Monday.
Musk’s substantial wealth and his widespread influence on the X platform played a crucial role in supporting Trump during the final months of the election campaign.
To support Trump’s campaign, Musk established the American PAC and sponsored $118 million. He also played a pivotal role in voter turnout efforts in swing states.
Additionally, he personally participated in Trump’s campaign activities, attending rallies with the Republican candidate and hosting a series of town hall meetings in swing states like Pennsylvania in the final weeks leading up to the election.
In his victory speech, Trump expressed special thanks to Musk, saying, “We have a new star. A new star is born, Elon!”
It is expected that Musk will play a role in Trump’s new administration. Trump suggested that Musk could lead a group focused on reducing government spending.
