iKON member Bobby enlists in the military, gives ice cream to fans

South Korean boy group iKON member Bobby (Kim Ji-yoon) enlisted in the military today (4th). Yesterday evening, apart from sharing a photo of his crew cut on social media, he also distributed ice creams to fans in a limited manner as a gift to them.

Entertainment agency 143 Entertainment originally announced in April that Bobby was scheduled to enlist on May 21. However, Bobby, who got married in 2021 and has a child to support, was categorized as an active reserve soldier. As a result, his enlistment date was eventually rescheduled to June 4.

Bobby is the third iKON member to enlist, following Jay, who enlisted in July last year, and Chan-woo, who enlisted last month. 143 Entertainment stated that there would be no official event on this day to prevent chaos and safety incidents. Bobby will enter the training camp in a private manner.

Interestingly, the day before his enlistment, Bobby not only shared his crew cut photo on his official Twitter account but also announced that he had prepared 200 ice creams for iKONIC (official fan club) at a convenience store, available for fans to collect from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Today, in the morning, he briefly wrote on Twitter, “I will go and come back safely!”, bidding farewell to his fans.

As an active reserve soldier, after completing basic military training, Bobby will be able to commute from home to the assigned unit for service.
