Recently, there have been several accidents involving Xiaomi cars. One of the incidents that caught the attention of netizens took place in Shanxi, where a Xiaomi SU7 sedan collided with an electric bike rider and crashed into a clothing store.
A video shared by netizens shows a white Xiaomi SU7 sedan crashing into the clothing store, shattering the glass door. The store’s sign read “clothing” in large characters. In front of the store, a person lay motionless on the ground.
According to the Dahe Daily, the incident occurred in Huguan County, Changzhi, Shanxi around 7 p.m. on February 6th. Mr. Qin, the owner of the clothing store, mentioned that the accident happened after he had already closed the shop for the day, and he only found out about it when a neighbor called him. Upon arriving at the scene, he saw the storefront’s door completely shattered. Due to the impact on business operations, the store has now been closed.
Mr. Qin learned afterward that the owner of the Xiaomi car involved in the accident is a 27-year-old local from Huguan. The driver did not slow down at the time of the accident and collided with a sixteen or seventeen-year-old electric bike rider while trying to avoid hitting a tricycle. When Mr. Qin arrived at the scene, the injured person had already been taken to the hospital, and he remains unclear about the exact condition of the victim.
A local informant revealed that the rider was a classmate of her niece, a student from Nanyang, who has unfortunately passed away.
In response to the incident, the traffic police brigade in Huguan County stated that there was indeed a traffic accident involving a Xiaomi car on February 6th but cannot provide further information to individuals not directly involved.
Subsequently, the reporter reached out to the local emergency management bureau, propaganda department, 120 emergency center, two hospital emergency departments, and funeral home but did not receive any substantial responses.
Many online users have urged Xiaomi to respond to the incident, but as of now, there has been no official statement from Xiaomi regarding the matter.
