The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that two states in the U.S. are recalling nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina because the beef did not undergo required reinspection upon arrival in the U.S.
According to the announcement made by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) last Friday, located in Aventura, Florida, the meat import and distribution company, “Corte Argentino USA LLC,” is recalling approximately 29,628 pounds of raw beef products imported from Argentina that did not go through reinspection upon entry into the U.S.
These raw beef products were produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, with an expiration date for consumption or freezing between September 15 and September 20, 2026.
The recall includes beef products packed in various types of cartons with different weights, all produced by the Argentina’s leading beef processing and export company, “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC,” covering various categories such as boneless beef rump, beef eye of round, among others.
Specifically, the recalled products include:
– “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Top Sirloin Butt” (Cuadril Sin Tapa in Argentina)
– “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Eye Round” (Peceto in Argentina)
– “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Topside Cap Off” (Nalga AD S/Tapa in Argentina)
– “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Flat” (Carnaza Cuadrada in Argentina)
– “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Knuckle” (Bola de Lomo in Argentina)
These recalled products bear the Argentine processing plant number “EST. N° OF. 2025” and the transportation mark “26644-AA.” The products have been distributed to distributors and retailers in Florida and Texas.
The FSIS discovered the issue of lack of reinspection during routine inspection activities.
The announcement mentioned that there have been no reports of confirmed cases of illness or injury from consuming these products. Individuals concerned about potential illnesses or injuries from consuming these products should contact healthcare institutions.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service warned consumers who have purchased these products to refrain from consumption and either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
