California Palisades Fire Devours Nearly 16,000 Acres of Land
The recent devastating fire in Palisades, California has engulfed nearly 16,000 acres of land, leaving many celebrities with multi-million-dollar homes in ruins. Billy Crystal, who has resided in his home since 1979, has lost his house in the fire. Paris Hilton witnessed her luxurious mansion on Malibu Beach being reduced to ashes during a live television broadcast, causing her immense heartbreak.
According to reports from Reuters, Billy Crystal and his wife Janice, who have hosted the Oscars multiple times over the years, expressed their heartache over losing their home in Pacific Palisades, where they raised their children. However, they believe that with the love of their children and friends, they will get through this challenging time.
Media personality and hotel heiress Paris Hilton stated, “Watching our home in Malibu turn to ashes on live TV is something no one should have to experience.”
During the wildfire, celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, James Woods, Mandy Moore, Mark Hamill, and Maria Shriver shared their harrowing evacuation experiences.
James Woods, a two-time Oscar nominee and three-time Emmy Award winner, described the fire as “hellfire,” hastily evacuating and unable to take important belongings with him. He emotionally recounted how one day he was swimming in his pool, and the next day everything was gone. Woods shared how his young niece brought her piggy bank to help in rebuilding their home, bringing tears to his eyes.
Jamie Lee Curtis, an Oscar-winning actress, mentioned that the entire community was “burning.” She urged people to pray for those who believe in it and even for those who do not.
Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife and journalist Maria Shriver stated that the fire destroyed the entire community and their restaurant. She emphasized that firefighters have been working tirelessly, but the magnitude of the fire is overwhelming and out of control.
