Deadline for Wildfire Compensation Claims is November 30th, Southern California Edison holds information session.

In October 2026, Southern California Edison (SCE) is organizing multiple information sessions to assist residents affected by the devastating Eaton Fire that occurred in Los Angeles in early 2025. The fire caused severe losses to many families in the area.

The “Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program” by SCE has a deadline for applications set on November 30th. Eligible individuals must submit their compensation claims before this date to be considered for the program’s benefits.

As of September 24th, SCE has received nearly 4,900 claims involving over 14,900 applicants, including individuals, trusts, and legal entities. The company has proposed over 2,800 compensation packages totaling more than $970 million to over 6,900 applicants. Additionally, SCE has already disbursed compensation totaling over $525 million to more than 3,700 applicants, with many more claims still under review.

Once SCE receives complete claim documentation, they typically present a compensation offer within 36 days. Applicants who find the “Fast Pay” option insufficient to cover their losses can request a detailed review. However, to retain this right, applicants must also submit their information by the November 30 deadline.

Qualified individuals can apply for the “Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program” through SCE’s website. To further aid affected residents in filing their claims, SCE will be hosting various community meetings and online sessions. These include a rebuilding-focused community meeting in Irwindale on October 13 at 6 p.m., online meetings on October 28 and November 19 at 6 p.m., and an in-person meeting in Pasadena on November 12 at 6 p.m.

Moreover, SCE personnel will be attending community events in Pasadena, Alhambra, San Gabriel, and other locations from October 3 to November 14 to provide information about the program and assist with applications. For specific locations and times, individuals can refer to the SCE website.
