On August 3, a safety accident occurred in Section B of the “Jungle Leap” project in the Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, Yunnan Province, when the rope broke, according to a post by a tourist. It was reported that multiple tourists had to be carried out on stretchers.
The incident left many visitors shocked and dissatisfied with the safety measures taken at the park. One visitor, Ms. C, shared her experience with a local newspaper. She recounted waiting in line since 9 o’clock in the morning for the “Jungle Leap” activity, only to be informed by staff after nearly three hours of queuing that the rope had broken. Park staff promptly requested Ms. C to return her ticket, and she witnessed multiple tourists being carried out on stretchers.
In response to the safety incident, the park issued an announcement on the afternoon of the same day regarding the temporary suspension of operations for the Jungle Leap, Canopy Walk, and Rainforest Adventure activities due to equipment maintenance.

Netizens expressed concerns over the safety standards of popular attractions at the Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, particularly the “Jungle Leap” adventure, noting that incidents like a rope break can lead to serious injuries among visitors.

On August 4, the Emergency Management Bureau in Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, responded to inquiries from a local newspaper, stating that official information should be relied upon, and that they are currently following procedures to address the situation. The Propaganda Department of the Jinghong City Committee also emphasized that the matter is under investigation, and official reports will be released in due course.
