The City of New York World Cup ticket raffle event was launched on Monday (May 25th), and within just three minutes, the participation limit of 50,000 people was reached. The website stopped accepting new registrations on Monday and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
New York City Mayor Mamdani announced on the 21st that the city government has partnered with the 2026 FIFA World Cup New York/New Jersey Organizing Committee to secure 1,000 discounted World Cup tickets for New York City residents to purchase at $50 each. The tickets also come with complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, allowing more ordinary citizens to participate in this international sports event.
The 1,000 tickets will be distributed across multiple matches. As per the plan, the discounted tickets will be valid for seven matches held at the MetLife Stadium, including five group stage matches, and one each of the Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches, with approximately 150 tickets up for raffle per game. The plan does not include the World Cup final on July 19, 2026.
Online registration opened at 10 a.m. on May 25th and will continue until May 30th, with a daily application limit of 50,000 people. Each resident can apply once per day online. Winners are expected to be notified on June 3rd and must complete the ticket purchase at the designated time. Link: https://regnyctix.com/
