Recently, Xie Zhengmao, a parent victimized by vaccines in Shanghai who fled to the United States, stood in front of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles shouting slogans such as “Down with the Communist Party! Long live democracy!” to protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s suppression and persecution of vaccine victim rights groups.
Xie has protested in front of the consulate many times. He told Epoch Times, “I protest against the rogue regime of the Chinese Communist Party that disregards human lives. I hope people around the world can see through the true nature of the rogue regime of the Chinese Communist Party and not be deceived by them.”
Having worked in the IT industry, Xie’s wife was employed at a major company in Shanghai, and they have a daughter. Unfortunately, the fate of this family was altered by two doses of domestically produced vaccines.
In 2018, Xie’s six-year-old daughter was diagnosed with severe acquired aplastic anemia after receiving the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis combined vaccine produced by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products and the varicella attenuated vaccine produced by the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products in the community. Local government assessments three times confirmed that it was an abnormal reaction caused by vaccination. Yet, Xie has never received fair compensation.
“We sued the government for administrative inaction, but the court refused to file the case. When we sued the vaccine-producing companies, the court also dismissed the lawsuits. They said the issue needs to be resolved through administrative means by the government, but the government did nothing. The ordinary people have no way to protect their rights, and that (the CCP) is the most malicious aspect,” Xie said.
Throughout his rights defense process, Xie has been illegally detained multiple times, had his ribs broken, and his wife lost her job. Feeling forced, in August 2025, he fled to the US with his daughter. Currently, he is preparing for his daughter to undergo a bone marrow transplant.
He mentioned that relevant institutions have conducted three assessments, all concluding abnormal reactions from the vaccination. “We have all the evidence showing that the vaccine caused the child’s illness. The government should take responsibility and provide treatment for her. They are playing dumb with me, which I cannot accept.”
Xie believes that the fundamental cause of all this is the CCP’s authoritarian system. Firstly, it exempts the government from liability, limits the responsibility of companies, and places unlimited responsibility on parents. “The Communist Party has abandoned the group of people disabled by vaccines from a systemic level, abandoning them to fend for themselves.”
“The Communist Party seizes property through looting and plundering, commits atrocities, and still claims to serve the people, which is a lie combined with deception, incredibly despicable,” Xie said. He expressed that domestically produced vaccines have harmed many children and families, while the COVID-19 vaccine has also caused significant harm to adults. “The CCP refuses to admit it and traps people in a system where there is no way to voice their suffering, showing a disregard for life, intentionally committing crimes.”
After arriving in the US, Xie has protested in front of the consulate multiple times and shared related video messages in WeChat groups, which are quickly blocked. Shanghai authorities also contacted his ex-wife, threatening to silence him overseas.
He mentioned that the primary reason for taking his daughter to the US for treatment was to ensure that she does not have to live under the rule of the Communist Party’s rogues for the rest of her life.
“The US prioritizes people-centered approaches, and we have received some assistance in the US, which we did not receive domestically.”
Xie stated that his greatest wish is for his daughter to grow up in a democratic and free social environment.
