The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Wednesday, July 29th that they have deported two illegal immigrant criminals back to Mexico. These individuals were previously wanted in Mexico for aggravated murder and intentional homicide.
According to the announcement, on July 21st, officials responsible for deportation at the ICE Houston office sent 24-year-old Agustin Morales-Renteria and Juan Becerra Ruiz back to Mexico.
The two were transported from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo, Texas where Mexican authorities took custody of them.
Morales-Renteria first illegally entered the U.S. around September 21, 2021 and was deported on the same day. A warrant for aggravated murder was issued against him by the Mexican regional prosecutor’s office on October 19, 2021. He re-entered the U.S. illegally around October 15, 2021 to avoid prosecution.
ICE apprehended Morales-Renteria on December 4, 2024 at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri for altering motor vehicles and possession of controlled substances. However, due to the immigration enforcement priorities under the Biden administration at the time, prosecutors had discretion and took no action against him.
On November 4, 2025, Morales-Renteria was convicted of illegal gun possession and sentenced to 18 months in prison, then transferred to ICE custody on May 21, 2026. On July 2, an immigration judge ordered his deportation.
Becerra Ruiz illegally entered the U.S., with the specific date and location undisclosed. A warrant for intentional homicide was issued against Becerra in Querétaro, Mexico on October 21, 2022.
In May 2026, the U.S. Border Patrol received notification of the arrest warrant issued by Mexico for Becerra, pinpointing his location in the Houston area. On June 4, Border Patrol detained Becerra during a traffic stop in Spring, Texas, and handed him over to ICE officials. On June 30, an immigration judge ordered his deportation, which was carried out by ICE officials on July 21.
