Russian military drones attacked a Coca-Cola factory in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine on September 3, resulting in a severe fire at one of Europe’s largest beverage production facilities.
According to Kyiv Independent, Andy Hunder, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, confirmed that Coca-Cola’s production base near Velyka Dymerka in the Brovary district was damaged in the Russian drone attack.
Videos from online witnesses showed thick smoke rising from the facility.
Hunder stated, “All employees are safe and sound. The company is working with relevant authorities to assess the situation. Ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel remains our top priority.”
In a video address that evening, Zelensky discussed the attack and emphasized that the Russian military was fully aware that they were targeting a significant American commercial asset.
This is not the first time that Russian forces have targeted American business facilities operating in Ukraine.
In August 2025, Russian “Caliber” cruise missiles hit the Flex factory in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia Oblast; and in August of this year, Russian drones struck the Yuzh International factory in Sumy Oblast.
Previously, a Russian drone attack severely damaged a refinery facility owned by the American company Bunge in Dnipro, resulting in approximately 300 tons of oil leaking onto major roads.
The Mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, stated that the facility belonged to an agricultural enterprise based in St. Louis, USA, leading to road closures along the river for two to three days.
Before the attack on the Coca-Cola factory, Moscow had launched eight days of consecutive airstrikes on Kyiv.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko indicated that the airstrikes on September 3 resulted in at least 9 injuries, including a 12-year-old girl and 6 medical personnel, all of whom have been hospitalized.
The Kyiv Military Administration noted that the wreckage of the downed drones damaged several cars in the Darnytsia district and caused injuries to individuals; a high-rise residential building in the Holosiivskyi district caught fire, leading to the evacuation of 15 people; non-residential buildings and a park in the Solomianskyi district were also damaged.
