Recently, I came across an interview with the commander of the Azov Brigade’s drone unit, and it left a strong impression on me. I would like to share some insights from the interview with everyone here.
In October 2024, the Azov Brigade recognized the need to increase the number of drones and operators, leading to the establishment of a drone battalion with several hundred soldiers and tens of thousands of drones. They operated in Toretsk and surrounding areas, with Toretsk being a city in Donetsk Oblast that had already been destroyed, and witnessed intense clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces. The commander of the drone battalion, codenamed “Yas”, shared new details on the continuous development of drones in combat.
