Man rescues 13 abandoned kittens, receives praise from millions of netizens.

Louisiana man rescues 13 stray cats and gives them a second chance at life, winning praise from countless individuals.

Robert Brantley was driving to his favorite shooting range in Louisiana when he noticed movement in the grass on the side of the road. At first glance, he thought it was a small cat.

“I wasn’t sure, but what I saw in the rearview mirror made me turn the car around,” he told Epoch Times.

Brantley, a pioneer resident, pulled over and took out his phone to capture the moment with his two-year-old son. A scruffy little cat came running towards him, and Brantley gently picked it up. Before he could react, a group of kittens swarmed towards him.

“They came towards me, but in a somewhat wild manner. These kittens were dirty and needed a bath, but they didn’t seem to be in bad shape,” Brantley shared.

What happened next garnered praise from netizens.

“You can’t just take one and leave the rest. While we didn’t have enough space, leaving them behind wasn’t an option either,” Brantley said.

Getting all 13 kittens into the car was no easy task. Once he brought them home, they continued to be rambunctious. However, things took a turn after feeding them.

Brantley added that his family was very supportive, with his wife and children willingly taking care of the stray cats. From then on, the entire family took responsibility and worked hard to care for the kittens.

After the stray cats received a health check-up at the veterinarian’s, they were ready for adoption. The Brantleys decided to keep three cats, including the very first one who signaled for help, Scout.

“We found good homes for them. After sharing their plight, many people reached out, expressing their willingness to adopt one or more kittens. We found more adoptive families than kittens. This is great because it makes it easy to choose good homes for them,” Brantley revealed.

Some people felt uneasy about the kittens being separated, but Brantley explained that his main goal was to rescue them first and then find them good homes.

“I’ve always loved animals, but loving them is often about what’s best for them, not for my own desires to have them as pets. So, I’m happy to know they found good families and farms,” he said.

According to Brantley, all the cats are doing well.

Brantley, who spends most of his days working outdoors, is greeted by the three cats he adopted when he returns home. He said, “They always come running out, sometimes following us for a mile or two. In that aspect, they are a bit like dogs.”

Describing Scout’s personality, Brantley mentioned that the cat is always laid back, spending most of its time wandering. It enjoys playing with children and other cats.

The animal lover later discovered that the stranded kittens had been abandoned. “I am a hundred percent sure they were dumped there. They are two different litters, one slightly larger than the other. They were right on the road just a few miles away.”
