Apply Quickly for Restaurant Fund, Reminds National Asian American Chamber of Commerce

The Asian American Chamber of Commerce announced several important initiatives on May 24, including the AAPI STRONG Restaurant Fund application deadline set for May 31; providing professional guidance for small and medium businesses applying for loans; and the 2024 AAPI STRONG Asian Pacific American Small Business Summit scheduled for September.

President and CEO of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Dong Jiling, stated at a press conference that the organization serves as the implementing agency for the federal Capital Readiness Program. It provides assistance to businesses facing financing difficulties. Entrepreneurs can learn how to obtain federal or other loans through the West Coast Center of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

Training programs include personalized training to help entrepreneurs build capabilities, acquire tools and resources to expand their business, guidance on capital preparation, and assistance in creating successful business proposals.

The Capital Readiness Program is a $125 million technical assistance program under the federal Minority Business Development Agency, the Department of Commerce’s largest investment in underfunded, especially small businesses in disadvantaged areas, aimed at helping these businesses develop and grow.

The Capital Readiness Program West Coast Hub is now operational at 950 S. Bascom Ave., STE 1111 San Jose, CA 95128.

During the press conference, the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce announced that the application deadline for the AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund has been extended until May 31. Asian Pacific restaurants nationwide are eligible to apply, with qualifying recipients receiving grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.

The initiative is sponsored by Grubhub, with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place on September 4 at the national conference in Santa Clara. Dong Jiling expressed gratitude to Grubhub for their ongoing commitment to Asian Pacific restaurants, providing opportunities for owners to expand their businesses.

The 2024 AAPI Strong Summit by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest business conferences for Asian Pacific entrepreneurs and leaders in the United States, targeting Asian Pacific business leaders and young entrepreneurs. The conference offers capital information, opportunities to contract with companies and the federal government, understanding federal business legislation, finding strategic partners, as well as one-on-one consultations with successful entrepreneurs.

This year’s conference will be held on September 4, 2024, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Chen Junya, the Honorary Chairman of the Global Yushan Technology Association, will serve as the summit’s chairperson.
