When asked about the impact of the fire on the residents of Tai Po, where they both reside, Wong Cho-lam disclosed that their home was only a short 2-minute drive from Wang Fuk Court. Recalling the initial days of the fire, he shared how his friend had reached out to his family on the first day but lost contact as the fire raged on. Friends and family prayed for his friend’s safety, but as time passed without word, hope dwindled.
The anxious wait for news weighed heavily on Wong Cho-lam as days passed. Finally, the confirmation of his friend’s tragic demise came with the discovery of the lifeless body.
Thinking of his friend’s sudden departure in the inferno, Wong Cho-lam couldn’t hold back tears. Expressing how tough the situation is, he wished for his friend to rest in peace and for the family to find solace soon.
This disaster not only affected Wong Cho-lam but also struck homes of other celebrities in Hong Kong.
