The FBI has submitted a new declassified intelligence report to Congress, revealing that Beijing had mass-produced fake US driver’s licenses and planned to interfere in the 2020 US election by forging and mailing ballots.
According to sources cited by Just the News on Monday, the intelligence report dated August 2020 had not been verified or thoroughly investigated. Former FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that there was no known foreign interference conspiracy before the 2020 election, leading to the report being withdrawn by intelligence agencies.
In response to a request from Congress, the FBI provided these newly declassified documents to Senator Chuck Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee from Iowa.
Grassley initially questioned why the intelligence was hastily withdrawn without thorough review, despite evidence of fake driver’s licenses at the time.
Current FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a release, “Thanks to Chairman Grassley’s oversight and cooperation, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency to the public. In response, we have located the files requested by Chairman Grassley, detailing shocking allegations related to the 2020 US election.”
“In particular, these allegations include the Chinese Communist Party’s plan to produce fake driver’s licenses and transport them to the US to facilitate the forging of mail-in ballots—allegations supported by evidence but abruptly withdrawn and never disclosed to the public.”
“In accordance with Chairman Grassley’s request for the files, I have immediately declassified the material and submitted the documents to the Chairman for further review.”
Officials who have seen the newly declassified documents revealed that the FBI obtained intelligence from a relatively new confidential source in the summer of 2020, stating that the Chinese government was producing and exporting fake US driver’s licenses to create voter identities for Chinese residents in the US to use counterfeit mail-in ballots.
They also mentioned that the report was withdrawn within weeks, with the allegations not thoroughly investigated, citing a need for re-interviewing the source.
Meanwhile, the US Customs and Border Protection intercepted nearly 20,000 fake driver’s licenses at customs following the intelligence release, which could potentially corroborate the report.
Patel shared Just the News’s report on social media on Tuesday, commenting, “The FBI has found some documents detailing shocking allegations related to the 2020 US election, including charges of Chinese interference.”
“I have immediately declassified this information and handed over the documents to Chairman Grassley for further review,” he added.
