The family of Luo Shuaiyu, an intern doctor at Xiangya Second Hospital who died after falling from a building, discovered multiple transfer records and materials reporting alleged illegal acquisition and trafficking of human organs by hospital staff in the recovered computer data. The family suspects there may be hidden truths behind Luo Shuaiyu’s death. On June 12th, the Hunan Health Commission’s petition department stated that the case has been handed over to the public security authorities for investigation. That night, related topics surged on Weibo’s hot search list.
According to Dahe Daily, over a year has passed since Luo Shuaiyu’s fatal fall incident. On the afternoon of June 12th, a reporter called the Hunan Health Commission’s petition department, and the response indicated that the petition materials provided by Luo Shuaiyu’s family have been accepted. Issues regarding the “medical corruption problem” at Xiangya Second Hospital have been transferred to the public security authorities, and a joint investigation team has been established to verify and investigate the matter.
That night, topics such as “Luo Shuaiyu’s reported materials may involve multiple doctors” trended on Weibo’s hot search list.
On the evening of the 12th, Luo Shuaiyu’s uncle, Luo Fuwen, told Modern Express that since discovering the materials in the computer, they have suspected hidden truths behind Luo Shuaiyu’s death, leading the family to compile and submit the materials to relevant departments. Currently, they are unaware of the transfer of related clues to the public security authorities and intend to verify with them while continuing to follow the developments of the incident.
According to Luo Fuwen, following Luo Shuaiyu’s accidental death, his parents have been deeply affected, and the stress has aged them significantly. This incident has been a catastrophic blow to the entire Luo family. After a year of adjustment, Luo’s parents’ mental state has slightly improved in recent times.
On August 17, 2022, Liu Xiangfeng, the deputy director of the Trauma Emergency Medicine Center at Xiangya Second Hospital, was reported to have illegally removed normal organs of patients, even involving illegal organ transplants, causing a sensation online. On August 25 of the same year, the Changsha City Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced that Liu Xiangfeng was suspected of serious violations of the law, and relevant authorities had taken control of him for investigation.
During Liu Xiangfeng’s investigation period, on May 8, 2024, Luo Shuaiyu, an intern doctor at Xiangya Second Hospital, died after falling from the dormitory building. The police initially ruled out homicide.
However, after Luo Shuaiyu’s death, his parents found fragments of glasses on his dormitory bed and signs of a struggle in the room, leading them to suspect that their son was murdered. After being forced to sign an agreement with the hospital stating that “Luo Shuaiyu died by suicide,” Luo’s parents retrieved Luo Shuaiyu’s phone and computer from the school. Upon recovering the data, they found extensive reports implicating Liu Xiangfeng, the deputy director of the Trauma Emergency Medicine Center at Xiangya Second Hospital, conspiring with a Taoist priest for the illegal acquisition and trafficking of human organs.
The WeChat chat records provided by the family show that from September 2021 to September 2023, Xiangya Second Hospital transferred over 400,000 yuan to Luo Shuaiyu under the guise of “service rewards.” The family questioned why the hospital would issue such a high amount of “service rewards” to a mere intern doctor like Luo Shuaiyu.
Furthermore, some of the transfers occurred after Liu Xiangfeng was investigated on August 25, 2022. This situation also raises questions: does the reported material in Luo Shuaiyu’s computer involve other medical staff at Xiangya Second Hospital? However, the Hunan Health Commission did not provide clarification on this question in the recent response.
