This Week’s Sunday, Diamond Bar Los Angeles County Prosecutor Candidate Showcases Political Views.

On Sunday, July 21st, at 2 p.m., the Los Angeles County organization “Community Safety Everyone’s Responsibility” (TACF) will host a public safety forum, inviting two local district attorney candidates, George Gascón and Nathan Hochman, to present their political views in the Diamond Bar community where many Chinese residents reside.

This forum provides an opportunity for the two candidates to introduce their governing policies to the voters, and for the voters to understand how they will perform in this role if elected. The forum will be moderated by Dr. Chia-Yu Teng, the Vice Mayor of the Chinese community in Diamond Bar.

As of the time of publication, the current Los Angeles County District Attorney, Gascón, has not confirmed his attendance at this public forum.

The new local district attorney for Los Angeles County will be chosen between Gascón and Hochman. Hochman has previously served as the Assistant Attorney General of the Tax Division at the Department of Justice, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Chair of the Los Angeles Ethics Commission, and currently works as the Chief Legal Officer at Ross LLP.

Before assuming the role of Los Angeles County District Attorney in 2020, Gascón served as the District Attorney of San Francisco County from 2011 to 2019. He has also held positions as Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department and Chief of Police in Mesa, Arizona, and San Francisco.

TACF stated that community safety is a matter of concern for all. The candidates’ policy inclinations and actions will have a significant impact on the future security of Los Angeles County. This meeting is one of the most anticipated gatherings for residents of the county this year. All community members are encouraged to spread the word and actively participate.
