Nine Dental Clinics under the Department of Health in Hong Kong will advance preliminary registration time starting from November 6th.

The Department of Health announced yesterday that starting from June 11, the preliminary registration time for the 9 dental street service clinics will be advanced from midnight on the day of service to 8:00 pm on the previous day, allowing waiting individuals to complete preliminary registration at an earlier time and leave.

The 9 dental clinics are located at Kennedy Town Community Complex Dental Clinic, Kowloon City Dental Clinic, Kwun Tong Dental Clinic, Fong Ip Wah Dental Clinic, Tai Po Wong Siu Ching Dental Clinic, Fanling Health Centre Dental Clinic, Tsuen Wan Dental Clinic, Yan Oi Dental Clinic, and Yuen Long Government Dental Clinic.

Starting from June 11, the aforementioned 9 clinics will begin preliminary registration for waiting individuals starting from 8:00 pm the night before the street service. Personal information will be registered and identity documents will be verified. Once the registration numbers reach the quota limit, staff will stop the preliminary registration.

Individuals who have completed the preliminary registration can leave the clinic immediately and return to the relevant clinic at the scheduled distribution time on the day of service to officially receive the distribution, formally register, and receive treatment.

The department is currently working on developing software and systems with the aim of introducing an online electronic distribution and registration system for dental street services within this year. This initiative will eliminate the need for citizens to queue in person for distributions. The government is also planning to collaborate with non-governmental organizations to enhance emergency dental services for vulnerable communities starting from next year, aiming to provide at least twice the quota of government dental street services.
