In the past two days, two stabbing incidents have occurred in Xinhua County, Loudi City, Hunan Province, China. Both cases were triggered by disputes over small amounts of money, ranging from a few dozen yuan to several thousand yuan. The public believes that people in mainland China have become more aggressive, and the overall negative environment has become the last straw that breaks the backs of the lower-class citizens.
On the evening of August 25th around 8 p.m., a brutal murder took place at the Ai Lun Auto Repair Shop on Mengmei Street in the county. A resident named Xiaomei (alias) who lives nearby told a reporter from Epoch Times that the owner of a BMW, who came to get his car repaired, got into an argument with the shop owner over a repair fee of 1200 yuan. The car owner not only refused to pay but also physically assaulted the shop owner, leading the owner to impulsively kill the car owner with a knife from the shop. “The owner used a knife from the shop to kill him, a single blow taking his life. The owner was arrested.”
Currently, the shop has been sealed off by the police. This incident has not been officially reported by the authorities.
Local residents also revealed that the shop owner has been struggling with his business for the past two years and harbored dissatisfaction with society. Some claimed that he had kept a large cutting knife hidden at home, while others said it was hidden in the trunk of his car, indicating that trouble was bound to happen sooner or later.
Another industry insider commented, “The auto repair industry is tough. Customers don’t pay, business is slow, debts pile up and become unbearable. Chasing payments from others is troublesome. Sometimes even collecting 1,000 yuan requires multiple installments. I’ve been there, that’s why I prefer working for others than being a boss now.”
Some residents believe that this incident was just a trigger, as the owner may have been suppressing his emotions for too long, making this the final straw that broke him.
Xiaomei also mentioned that on August 23rd, a mahjong parlor in Nanmen Bay was also the scene of a stabbing incident. Two women argued over 20 yuan, and their husbands got involved, leading to a physical fight. One husband ended up stabbing the other multiple times, with reports of more than ten stab wounds, although the victim survived. This incident also did not receive any official announcement.
Xiaomei expressed concerns about the increasingly aggressive behavior of people nowadays, attributing it to high levels of suppression in society, and advised tolerance when out and about.
Many netizens believe that the current economic downturn in China, coupled with a significant increase in unemployment, will lead to a rise in such incidents. In recent years, mainland China has seen a surge in various incidents like suicides, terror murders, and random acts of violence.
