Vice President of Guangdong Company Personally Delivers Goods, Crushed to Death by Glass.

Shenzhen recently witnessed a tragic accident where Liu Yongjun, the deputy general manager of Aizhu Precision Manufacturing Company, was crushed to death by several pieces of glass weighing a total of 150 kilograms while leading a delivery team.

According to a report by “Cover News” on June 21, the incident occurred on April 14, 2024, at the bus stop of Taoyang Road (Songbai Road-South Stone Road) in Matian Street, Guangming District of Shenzhen. On that afternoon around 2 p.m., Liu Yongjun led a delivery team from Guangdong Aizhu Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to deliver glass for installation at the bus station. While Liu Yongjun and four workers were unloading the glass, the uneven road surface caused the shelf to tilt slightly as they were separating the glass. One worker loosened the straps holding the glass and tried to separate the outermost large piece of glass by hand, causing the remaining three pieces of glass to collapse suddenly. This action also tipped over the outermost glass towards Liu Yongjun and the other two workers who were preparing to receive the glass on the ground. Liu Yongjun, standing in the middle, couldn’t evade in time and was crushed under several glass pieces weighing a total of 150kg on the asphalt pavement. The other two ground workers managed to escape being crushed.

Investigators of the accident stated that “the glass was 181cm wide, 380cm long, and each piece weighed 150 kilograms. Liu Yongjun was in an unsafe position and had no time to avoid being crushed instantly.”

Following the accident, Liu Yongjun was promptly taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
