A 28-year-old Chinese intern doctor, Luo Shuaiyu, who exposed the harvesting and trafficking of human organs at “Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University” last year, died in a mysterious fall. Now, an item left behind by him has surfaced, causing a huge stir, with the incident hitting the top trends on Weibo today (13th).
Recently, a Weibo user named “Tianyancha” revealed in a post that on May 8, 2024, after Luo Shuaiyu fell to his death from the hospital dormitory, his parents went to retrieve his belongings, but the hospital demanded them to sign an agreement recognizing it as a suicide before returning them.
Upon receiving the belongings, Luo’s parents found that the computer data had been deleted. They had technicians recover the data, uncovering 11,119 pages of whistleblower materials, exposing the scheme of “illegal organ transplants” at Second Xiangya Hospital: for example, patients entering the emergency department would be declared “brain dead,” and then their organs would be harvested; or medical staff injecting drugs into the patients’ brains to prevent their reviving, and more.
Luo Shuaiyu’s parents also released three audio recordings, where hospital staff could be heard asking Luo Shuaiyu, “Do you want this liver as well?” “Then we’ll need two kidneys.” It was chillingly similar to buying groceries at a market.
The data also contained multiple transaction records and evidence of medical staff involved in organ trafficking, including the “Devil Doctor” Liu Xiangfeng. This individual was reported to have illegally removed patients’ normal organs and engaged in illegal organ transplants.
The cases of Liu Xiangfeng and Luo Shuaiyu have sparked discussions on Chinese social media. Keywords like “Was Xiangya Luo Shuaiyu’s death a suicide or murder” have trended on Weibo.
In addition, Luo Shuaiyu’s father recently mentioned in a live broadcast that “someone” offered 15 million RMB as hush money to settle the issue, but he and his wife promptly refused.
