Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie recently successfully sold her historic mansion in Los Angeles, which sits on 2 acres of land and has a century-old history. The estate, with a whopping 11,000 square feet of living space, was ultimately sold for $24.75 million, lower than the asking price of $29.85 million back in May of this year but higher than the $24.5 million she paid for it in 2017, resulting in a modest profit of $250,000.
Jolie had planned to move away from Los Angeles years ago and had listed the mansion for $29.85 million but reportedly faced difficulty in selling it. The mansion, spanning 11,000 square feet and featuring 6 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, was once the residence of legendary film director Cecil B. DeMille.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Jolie purchased the estate in June 2017 after ending her 11-year relationship and 2-year marriage with Brad Pitt in September 2016. She intended for the mansion to be a new home for herself and her six children: Maddox (24), Pax (22), Zahara (21), Shiloh (20), and twins Knox and Vivienne (18).
In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie revealed that she had been forced to remain in Los Angeles due to legal restrictions stemming from divorce proceedings and custody battles with her children since her split from Brad Pitt in 2016. Once the twins turned 18 in July 2026, Jolie was finally free from legal constraints to fulfill her promise of leaving Los Angeles and relocating overseas.
A close source to Jolie disclosed that she is unsure of where her focus will be in her new life but plans to visit her now-adult children scattered in different locations. Additionally, Jolie will dedicate more time to her foundation in Cambodia, where she also owns a residence.
