According to a notification released on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Toyota Motor Corporation has recalled nearly 5,500 Toyota and Lexus vehicles due to potential issues that could result in loss of stability and control, thereby increasing the risk of collisions.
The recall notice issued on Wednesday, July 8, stated that the problem involves the rear axle brackets of certain vehicles, which “may fracture due to insufficient material strength.” NHTSA highlighted that this issue poses a safety hazard and could increase the risk of collisions.
The NHTSA report indicated that this recall may affect 5,408 vehicles, including the following models:
– 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander
– 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid
– 2026 Lexus TX
– 2026 Lexus TX Hybrid
– 2026 Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid
The recall numbers are 26TB13, 26TA13, 26LB08, and 26LA08.
According to NHTSA, the notification letters will be sent out on August 23. Owners can bring their vehicles to dealerships for a complimentary inspection. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace parts if necessary.
