On June 16th, the historical site “New Windsor Cantonment” located in New Windsor, Upstate New York, held a family-friendly Children’s Day event. This event, free and open to the public, provided a wonderful opportunity for entertainment and education combined. It also served as a great choice for families to celebrate Father’s Day together. Many residents of Upstate New York came to enjoy this special day, spending quality time outdoors with their families!

One of the highlights of the event was the performance by the renowned magician Robert Olson from Connecticut, who mesmerized the audience with a magic show in the persona of the 18th-century magician Mr. Bayly. Olson showcased his superb sleight of hand skills, transporting the audience back to the 18th century and allowing them to experience the magic style of that era firsthand.

In addition, the event featured the Iannucci family showcasing their diligently cared-for “Two by Two Animal Sanctuary.” Participants had the opportunity to interact with these gentle and adorable animals up close, and children could engage in various traditional games such as blindman’s bluff, field hockey, and musket military training. These activities brought joy and entertainment to all the participants.

The Children’s Day event at New Windsor Cantonment was not only a fun and educational experience but also a heartwarming way for families to come together and celebrate special occasions such as Father’s Day. The combination of magic performances, interaction with animals, and traditional games created a memorable and joyous atmosphere for all who attended. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and bonding, fostering a sense of community among the attendees.
