The World Chinese Business Women’s Association of Northern California held its year-end gathering on December 13th at the misty Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside, reviewing the achievements of the past year and announcing the re-election of Luo Qianru as the president.
On the day of the event, representatives from the political and overseas Chinese communities, as well as past executives of the local chapter attended, including the head of the office’s news department Guo Huizhen, economic team leader Chen Ailan, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center Liu Meizhi, Mayor of Cupertino Zhao Liangfang, Overseas Chinese Affairs Commissioner and Executive Director of the International Affairs of the World Chinese General Association Wei Dezhen, Deputy Secretary-General Lan Jiaxin, and the founding president of the Northern California chapter Wu Yuping, engaged in discussions with the members.
Luo Qianru told Dajiyuan that over the past year, the Northern California chapter has continued to promote the operating model of “serving internally and connecting externally”, through strengthening exchanges among members in the business sector and participating in the annual general assembly of the association, assisting members in expanding business opportunities.
She stated that in the future, they will continue to expand the business network, enhance the visibility of Northern California enterprises, and deepen communication with the head office and various local chapters.
Founding President Wu Yuping recalled that since its establishment in 2012, the Northern California chapter has gradually developed steadily under the collective efforts of past executives and has continued to invest in public welfare activities.
She praised Luo Qianru’s performance last year and hoped that the chapter would continue to unite the strength of its members to expand its international visibility.
Wei Dezhen stated that the Northern California chapter is like one big family, expecting the chapter to work hand in hand with the head office and global chapters to expand its influence.
The gathering was hosted by Lan Jiaxin, who previously served as the president in 2018/2019 and is currently the Deputy Secretary-General.
She emphasized that the Northern California chapter is part of an international organization with nearly a hundred chapters, encouraging members to utilize the networking opportunities across chapters.
Representing the office, Guo Huizhen attended the event, praising the elegance, wisdom, and high organizational and executive abilities demonstrated by the women of the association.
She also mentioned that the office will assist in promoting an upcoming blood donation event and support the chapter’s charitable activities.
Liu Meizhi stated that with the trend of the “Made in America” policy, Taiwanese businesses in the Bay Area have become important partners of the Taiwan Trade Center. She mentioned that the Trade Center provides procurement matchmaking, invites American buyers to participate in exhibitions in Taiwan, and offers investment, legal, and accounting consulting services, encouraging members to effectively utilize government resources to expand Taiwan-U.S. business opportunities.
