“Communist Party Sends 38 Warships to Disturb Taiwan, Taiwanese Military Vigilantly Monitors and Responds”

On February 12, 2025, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated that a total of 23 instances of aircraft flying over the median line of the Taiwan Strait have been monitored from 6 am on the 11th to 6 am today. Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping has not abandoned the use of force against Taiwan, claiming Taiwan as an inseparable part of its territory even though it has never occupied the island. Through various gray-zone tactics, the CCP continues to disrupt Taiwan, leading to ongoing tensions in the Taiwan Strait region.

President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, has rejected Beijing’s territorial claims and emphasized that only the 23 million people of Taiwan should determine their own future. He hopes that the Republic of China can cooperate with the United States and democratic countries to play a positive role in promoting global democracy and prosperity.

The Chinese Communist Party has been sending aircraft and vessels to harass Taiwan nearly every day this year. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China announced this morning the movements of Chinese military activities in the surrounding airspace of the Taiwan Strait. From 6 am on the 11th to 6 am on the 12th, 30 instances of Chinese aircraft (23 instances of aircraft flying over the median line into northern, southwestern, and eastern airspace of Taiwan) and 7 Chinese vessels and 1 government ship were detected, continuing their activities in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait. The national army is utilizing aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.

Furthermore, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released a press statement this morning, indicating that two American ships have been sailing from north to south through the Taiwan Strait since the 10th. The national army has been closely monitoring the surrounding sea and airspace dynamics throughout the strait, maintaining normal conditions.

According to Reuters, two ships of the United States Navy passed through the Taiwan Strait this week, marking the first such mission since President Trump took office last month. The US Navy typically sails through the Taiwan Strait once a month, occasionally accompanied by ships from allied countries.

The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army stated that from February 10 to 12, the US destroyer USS Johnson and the oceanographic survey ship USNS Bowditch sailed through the Taiwan Strait. The Eastern Theater Command organized naval and air forces to closely monitor the entire passage of the US ships, alert and vigilant throughout. The actions of the US have transmitted incorrect signals and increased security risks.

On October 20, 2024, one ship each from the United States and Canada crossed the Taiwan Strait to carry out joint missions. At the time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, Joseph Wu, expressed that freedom of navigation not only aligns with national interests but also serves the common interests of Indo-Pacific countries.
