In light of the CCP’s convening of the “Two Sessions,” the China Democratic Party’s U.S. West Coast branch recently held a rally in front of the Los Angeles Consulate General, protesting against the extreme stability maintenance measures carried out by the CCP before the “Two Sessions,” which included widespread censorship and interception of citizens’ visits.
Each year leading up to the “Two Sessions,” the CCP regime initiates extreme stability maintenance mechanisms, pushing society into abnormally tense conditions. The CCP, on one hand, creates an illusion of “public support” through the media, while on the other hand, initiates nationwide blanket clearance, with police and security forces swarming to carry out “preventive suppression” against dissidents. The China Democratic Party’s U.S. West Coast branch believes that such actions demonstrate the extreme fragility of the CCP regime and its extreme fear of the truth.
During last Sunday’s event (March 1st), the host Yi Yong bluntly stated that the so-called “people’s representatives” have never been authorized by the voters, and the “democratic proposals” of the CPPCC are simply footnotes to CCP power.
“The ‘Two Sessions’ are nothing but a waste of people’s money and an act of deceiving the public. They use taxpayers’ hard-earned money to build cages to imprison taxpayers,” Yi Yong said. “A government that claims to represent the people yet regards the people as the biggest threat during meetings is the most absurd irony.” Yi Yong pointed out that this proves that the CCP knows that its rule is built on lies, and as long as there is a crack, the spark of freedom will ignite.
Mu Wei, a member of the China Democratic Party and one of the organizers of the event, stated that the CCP sustains its regime through violence and lies, employing domestic violence for stability maintenance, suppressing dissenters, restricting information, deceiving the public, and ruling dictatorially. They use the so-called People’s Congress to create false democracy, bringing calamity to the country and its people, exhausting the people and causing damage.
Mu Wei said, “We are gathered here to demand returning power to the people, abolishing the People’s Congress system, and implementing universal suffrage of one person, one vote.” He led the ralliers in chanting: “Overthrow the CCP, return power to the people!”
Another organizer of the event and member of the China Democratic Party, Liu Jinliang, stated, “People living freely and dignified, free from persecution by the authorities, is what constitutes a normal country; whereas the so-called representatives of the CCP’s Two Sessions do not represent us, they only represent the CCP interest group, representing the dictatorship.”
At the event, participants repeatedly shouted slogans such as “The people have no ballots, all representatives are ‘dummy’ proxies” and “Reject the false democracy of the Two Sessions, give back our true civic rights.”
The organizers warned the CCP that iron-fisted stability maintenance cannot bring lasting peace, and blocking information cannot quell boiling grievances; the more the people fearlessly voice out, the more it proves the end of its rule. The China Democratic Party’s U.S. West Coast branch will continue to expose the nature of its “rule of fear” until the Chinese people have genuine freedom; and will continue to pay attention to fellow compatriots persecuted due to Two Sessions’ stability maintenance, calling on the international community to jointly focus on the CCP’s increasingly severe cross-border suppressions and high-pressure internal rule.
