Last Sunday (March 1st), the Chinese Democratic Party Headquarters held a Lunar New Year gathering in Rosemead, Los Angeles County, Southern California. Members from the headquarters and various branches gathered to celebrate the Lunar New Year and discuss hopes for the future.
Over forty people attended the gathering, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. Participants not only celebrated the Lunar New Year but also engaged in discussions about the development, historical responsibilities, and future directions of the Chinese Democratic Party over the past thirty years.
Chairman Zheng Cunzhu of the headquarters reviewed the progress made by the Chinese Democratic Party in organizational development, advocating externally, and promoting democratic ideals over the past year. He expressed gratitude for the efforts of all party members and outlined clear goals and tasks for the new year, encouraging members to support each other and steadily advance various initiatives.
During his speech, Wang Xizhe, an advisor to the Chinese Democratic Party headquarters, explained about his edited work “Compilation of Historical Materials of the Early Days of the Chinese Democratic Party.” This book collects important historical material from the party’s early days, showcasing the party’s establishment in defiance of the ban, and its historical role in fighting for freedom and rights for the Chinese people in difficult times – an essential part of the Chinese democratic movement that should provide a systematic, complete, and first-hand historical record for future research and reference.
Wang Xizhe expressed gratitude to party members and friends for their generous donations towards the publication of the book, with the current amount reaching the budget target and the publication proceeding as planned. He emphasized that the publication of this book not only reflects the historical responsibility of colleagues but also demonstrates the unity and cohesion among party members.
The atmosphere during the banquet was lively and pleasant. While exchanging Lunar New Year blessings, party members also expressed their enthusiasm for collectively promoting the cause of Chinese democracy.
