A heartbreaking and tragic fatal car accident occurred on Long Island, New York recently. A mother of four children who worked at a local Jewish school lost control of her car last Friday (August 21) and crashed into the swimming pool in their backyard, resulting in her death on the way to the hospital. Police and family members later confirmed that the victim was 40-year-old teacher Allison Rahmani, who was deeply loved by the community and her students.
According to a report by the Jewish News Service (JNS), the tragic incident took place at a residence in Hewlett, Nassau County. Rahmani, aged 40, was driving an SUV when it suddenly went out of control and plunged directly into the swimming pool in their backyard.
After the car sank into the pool, Rahmani tried to call for help. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and pulled her out, but unfortunately, she stopped breathing in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Currently, authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and the details of how the car lost control.
Before the accident, Rahmani worked as a teacher and math coordinator at the renowned HAFTR (Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway) Jewish school on Long Island. Her husband, Matthew Rahmani, serves as the president of a local modern Orthodox synagogue. The couple had four children and led a happy and fulfilling family life.
