Recently, a consumer in Guangdong province posted a complaint online, claiming to have found “thousands of live ants” inside a pack of Qingfeng brand tissues. This incident quickly drew attention, and Qingfeng brand responded by stating that they are unable to accurately determine the specific stage at which the insects entered the product. Currently, this is the only isolated case of feedback received, and an agreement has been reached between both parties.
The video shared by the consumer shows a large number of ants crawling inside an opened pack of Qingfeng tissues.
Following widespread attention to this matter, on July 17th, the responsible person from Qingfeng brand spoke to a journalist from “Nandu Bay Finance and Economics” and expressed apologies for the negative user experience caused to the consumer. After investigation, the products from the batch in question were found to meet all national standards for household paper products. The factory conducts thorough high-temperature sterilization throughout the production process, utilizes fully enclosed automated production, and has a comprehensive insect prevention and control system in place in the production workshop. There are no conditions in the production process for ants to contaminate the products. Ant activities can be influenced by various external factors such as storage, home environment, and transportation, making it currently impossible to accurately determine how the insects entered the product. So far, this is the only feedback received, and there have been no similar issues reported by other consumers from the same batch.
The spokesperson mentioned that post the incident, the brand proactively contacted the consumer to reassure and communicate, and they have since reached a settlement. The consumer has voluntarily removed relevant online posts. Moving forward, the company will continue to enhance the entire chain of insect prevention measures in storage and logistics, further reducing the risk of foreign objects entering the circulation process.
Qingfeng brand is under the umbrella of the Golden Maple Paper Industry Group, which in turn is under the Golden Light Group.
