Tragic Incident at Yunnan Province Hospital Leaves 23 Injured, 2 Dead
In Yunnan Province’s Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital on Wednesday, a violent incident occurred resulting in at least 23 people being injured, with 2 individuals tragically losing their lives. Eyewitnesses revealed that among the injured were doctors, babies, and elderly individuals.
Witnesses at the Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital in Yunnan Province disclosed to the media that around noon on the 7th, several assailants stormed into the hospital, armed with knives, and began attacking people indiscriminately. One witness recounted, “23 individuals were killed or injured, including 3 doctors, 1 baby, and mostly elderly patients,” adding that “one doctor had five cuts on his face.”
The witness described feeling paralyzed with fear during the attack and managed to escape to the second floor. According to the witness, three suspects have been apprehended by authorities.
According to reports from “Citizens’ Concern,” a trustworthy source indicated that a malicious act causing harm took place at Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital in Zhaotong, Yunnan at noon. Upon initial verification, the incident resulted in 23 individuals being injured, with 2 fatalities reported.
Videos circulated online depicted injured individuals in the hospital, some being carried on stretchers, while others lay bleeding on the ground. The suspect was arrested in a recuperation town.
Following the incident, online messages revealed that the Property Service Center of Xingfu Li in Zhenxiong County issued an urgent notice to homeowners and residents, warning of an escaped fugitive in the area and urging caution.
A staff member from the Xingfu Li Property Service Center confirmed the authenticity of the emergency notice received from the police on the 7th, but the identity of the wanted individual remains unclear.
A resident who witnessed the hospital events expressed ongoing shock and unrest, stating that doctors were among the injured and shared that he narrowly escaped a similar fate himself.
