American Chinese who have the freedom to read this extraordinary book expressed their profound shock at the “Nine Commentaries” and the movement it has led for people to quit the Party.
At the 20th-anniversary seminar for the “Nine Commentaries” in Los Angeles, Chinese attendees included longtime Chinese immigrants to the US and recent immigrants who fled China. They voiced a shared desire to widely circulate the “Nine Commentaries,” hoping that more people can break free from the shackles of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spiritually.
Entrepreneur Li Hongyan from Yunnan expressed a significant impact after listening to speeches by experts and scholars. After coming to the US, she completely changed her perception of the CCP by reading the “Nine Commentaries.” “We were brainwashed since childhood, and our parents’ generation was involved in various movements without truly understanding what the CCP was,” she said. “The ‘Nine Commentaries’ unraveled all the CCP’s deceits, violence, and lies.”
Li Hongyan, a seasoned auctioneer from Yunnan Province, saw her millions of RMB wealth confiscated by authorities while doing business in China, causing her great distress. It was only after coming to the US that she experienced mental and emotional liberation.
“We should all take the time to read the ‘Nine Commentaries’ thoroughly,” she said. “Understanding the truth about China, understanding the truth about the Communist Party, requires a careful study of the ‘Nine Commentaries.'”
Shao Qiliang, a former IT industry entrepreneur from Shanghai, acknowledged the impeccable writing of the book and its deep dive into the essence of the Communist Party. He expressed his intention not only to read it himself but also to have his wife and children read it.
During the 2022 pandemic lockdown in Shanghai, which lasted three months, Shao Qiliang’s family couldn’t leave their home, experiencing hunger for the first time.
Shao Qiliang began circumventing the Great Firewall in China early on, learning about the many wrongdoings of the Communist Party. He recounted his journey of awakening to the reality of the CCP, realizing that the party reverted to its old ways when political reform was needed, fearing the loss of power.
“I believe many Chinese are still unaware of how vicious the CCP is, and more people need to realize the atrocities it has committed against the Chinese people and humanity,” Shao Qiliang said.
After being invited to the seminar, George Ge, an executive committee member of the Free China Clarity Foundation, expressed particular joy and excitement. Over a decade ago, George became a fan of the ‘Nine Commentaries’ after reading it in The Epoch Times and began collecting every commentary edition.
“I am here today as a ‘fan’ to attend the event,” George said. He believed that the ‘Nine Commentaries’ systematically and pointedly exposes the evil nature of the Communist Party.
George’s family has faced persecution by the CCP for generations, and it was only after reading the ‘Nine Commentaries’ that she understood her lifelong aversion to party propaganda. She said, “Since its publication, nearly 440 million people have quit the evil CCP, which is a great achievement worth celebrating!”
Qian Lujun, a member of the China Democracy Party from Gansu, called the ‘Nine Commentaries’ a classic masterpiece. He believed that the light of justice emitted by the ‘Nine Commentaries’ casts a permanent deterrent on the Communist Party, serving as a conclusive judgment of all the party’s crimes and guiding people away from its evil.
Another China Democracy Party member, Liu Guangxian from Jiangsu, declared his resignation from the Party, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers many years ago after coming to the US. He expressed profound shock at the ‘Nine Commentaries’ leading over 400 million Chinese to sever ties with the CCP. “So many people quitting the Party shows people are waking up; it shows many people are wise and have recognized the evil of the Communist Party.”
Liu Guangxian recalled receiving the ‘Nine Commentaries’ in front of a supermarket many years ago. The historical facts presented in the book were so unbelievable that he had to confirm its accuracy online. “Once I knew the truth, I was furious. I brought the book back to China and showed it to my friends. They initially didn’t believe it, but after checking the information, they were all shocked.”
Now, Liu Guangxian takes time with his wife to volunteer at Santa Monica Beach to promote the ‘Three Withdrawals’ and also introduces the ‘Nine Commentaries’ into the community. Why does he do this?
“Since the CCP came to power, it has directly or indirectly caused the deaths of 80 million Chinese people. The children of Huaxia should disassociate themselves from the Communist Party, not engage in immoral actions, and recognize the evil of the CCP,” Liu Guangxian emphasized. He stressed that the widespread dissemination of the ‘Nine Commentaries’ and the wave of ‘Three Withdrawals’ are crucial for China’s future, calling for more people to join the cause. “Each of us may be insignificant, but together, our power will be different.” ◇
