On May 16, 2026, in Arcadia, Southern California, Chinese-American female mayor Wang Ailin has agreed to plead guilty and resign from her position. This news has sparked discussions among the Chinese community in the area. Chen Weiming, the founder of Freedom Sculpture Park and a pro-democracy activist, expressed that the case of Wang Ailin is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Chinese Communist Party’s infiltration in the United States. He mentioned that there are many illegal agents of the CCP operating freely in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Chen Weiming’s recent sculpture creations have focused on exposing the CCP’s persecution of its people, making Freedom Sculpture Park a significant anti-CCP base in Southern California. Besides his artistic endeavors, he has actively participated in various protests against pro-CCP activities, some of which were organized by Wang Ailin and her fiancé, Sun Yaoning.
Analyzing the materials revealed in the cases of individuals like Chen Jun, Sun Yaoning, and Wang Ailin, it is evident that Wang Ailin’s rise to becoming the mayor was heavily supported by Sun Yaoning and Chen Jun. They saw Wang Ailin’s election as mayor as an opportunity to showcase their loyalty to the CCP. Chen Jun, being a senior CCP operative, along with Sun Yaoning, were both charged with acting as illegal foreign agents.
According to Chen Weiming, the CCP’s infiltration into the United States mainly occurs through two pathways. The first involves direct persecution across borders, such as sabotaging Freedom Sculpture Park discreetly, while the second method focuses on grooming “propaganda agents” for the CCP.
In his assessment, the infiltration tactics employed by the CCP aim to deceive and promote the values of communist authoritarianism through individuals who hold favorable positions in Western societies. He emphasized that such propagandistic efforts cannot remain clandestine and are often carried out through pro-CCP groups and grand scale propaganda events.
Reflecting on his participation in protests, Chen Weiming recalled two instances where Sun Yaoning was involved in large-scale propaganda activities. Once in 2016, during an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Long March victory organized by pro-CCP groups in Los Angeles, and again in 2019 during a flag-raising event marking the 70th anniversary of the CCP’s founding in Monterey Park, where Wang Ailin served as one of the chairpersons.
Regarding Wang Ailin’s prompt acknowledgment of guilt, Chen Weiming believes it to be a strategic move to seek a lenient sentence in light of the overwhelming evidence against her. He stated that Wang Ailin’s ideological beliefs have long been formed, viewing the US not as a land of democracy and freedom but rather still seeing the CCP’s dictatorial regime as her homeland.
Chen Weiming pointed out that Wang Ailin’s downfall highlights how some Chinese individuals prioritize short-term personal gains by supporting the CCP, while Americans have started to awaken to and reject the CCP’s illegal actions.
He cautioned that the CCP has been continuously subverting the US and urged political figures to never compromise with the CCP for long-term benefits. He highlighted the historical mistakes made during the two “united fronts” with the CCP, which ultimately led to the usurpation of power by the CCP.
Since its establishment, Freedom Sculpture Park has faced continuous malicious destruction, arson, and disruption, mainly due to its exhibitions featuring sculptures like “Tank Man of Tiananmen Square” and “CCP Virus.” Chen Weiming believes these activities are linked to CCP agents. Although some masterminds behind these attacks have been apprehended, many foot soldiers remain at large.
During the 2023 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in San Francisco, pro-CCP gangs violently attacked anti-CCP protesters, leaving victims bloodied and unconscious. Despite the severity of the crime, no arrests were made, raising suspicions of CCP infiltration.
From individuals like Chen Jun, Sun Yaoning, and Wang Ailin to Chinese nationals like Zhu Jiaobei illegally operating bio-labs in California and Nevada, there has been a systematic unraveling of individuals with close ties to the CCP. While these actions have been met with applause, Chen Weiming stressed that this is just the beginning of uncovering the extent of CCP infiltration.
In conclusion, he emphasized the presence of numerous illegal CCP agents in Los Angeles who are still unidentified, along with the concerning phenomenon of some Chinese individuals being unable to distinguish between the CCP and China, actively leaning towards the communist party. Chen Weiming hopes that more Chinese individuals will recognize the CCP’s true nature and advocates for the US government to intensify efforts to combat CCP infiltration in the country.
