According to several netizens, the incident took place on the evening of September 19 in the Shandong Dongying City Basketball Super League. During the match between Dongying District and Lijin County, a player from Dongying District suddenly raised his foot and forcefully kicked the basketball, striking the face of a referee on the court, causing a severe impact to his jaw.
Video footage shows the referee falling backward and losing consciousness on the spot, and he was subsequently carried away by medical personnel for treatment, leading to the interruption of the game.
